Chad L. Scheifele is a writer, director, and producer from rural Pennsylvania. He attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where his thesis short film, Natural Selection, won “Best Picture” out of his entire graduating class. Over the next few years, his short film found success at festivals all over the country and overseas. It screened at the YoungFilmmakers “Make Your Mark” venue, part of the 2013 SXSW Film Festival, an initiative designed to highlight young, emerging talent in film.

As the short did well in the festival circuit, Chad was given the opportunity to co-produce an independent feature film, The Suspect, shot locally in Pennsylvania. This film starred two-time Emmy-winner Sterling K. Brown, Mekhi Phifer, and William Sadler.

In July of 2014, Chad's feature film, Natural Selection, went into production, starring Katherine McNamara, Anthony Michael Hall, Mason Dye, and Amy Carlson. It was produced entirely in the state of Pennsylvania and was released worldwide in August of 2016. The film is currently streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and TubiTV.

Chad has gone on to produce and direct several short films, including Simple Things and Florida Man. Both projects are currently being developed into feature-length films.

Chad currently writes, produces, and directs various projects. The bulk of his work deals with characters that fight to overcome struggles within the world in which they live and/or the adversity they face within themselves.

Chad's mission as a filmmaker is to create strong, meaningful stories with characters that his audiences can connect with.
